All the internet is buzzing – Google has launched yesterday the official Facebook competitor – Google Plus. Even though one already existed – argh, Orkut, that wasn’t a big of a competition for Facebook. But Google+ (Plus) looks like it is. It’s biggest promise as far as I can tell is fixing the weird privacy settings (or even better, lack of) Facebook is having. Now you can group your friends, co-workers or just people you met at a conference or beer at the local pub in different groups or circles – and from the tour, it looks pretty darn easy. Of course, a Google project would not be a Google project without it’s search – called Sparks, it promises to deliver relevant content to your interests, so you have something fun to do while you’re free and bring some more money into Google’s accounts
. I was really curios how Google Ads would catch up with Facebook’s, which honestly, are very relevant. And it looks like the guys at Mountain View nailed it.
Currently access to the application is in a limited trial mode, meaning that you can only get in via an invitation. I’ve requested access through their “Keep me Posted” form, so I’ll keep you posted once I get in (btw, has anyone managed to get approved?).
